An easy but delicious recipe perfect for any member of the family. A beautiful dessert for when that special someone comes to visit or to spoil your partner.
INGREDIENTS (6 apple roses )
2 apples
1 sheets of puffed pastry
6 Tablespoons of your favourite jam
4 Tablespoons of water
The juice of 1/2 a lemon
Cinnamon
Powdered Sugar
DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 190 degrees C ( 374 degrees F )
Remove the puffed pastry from freezer .
Step 1: Cut the apples in half remove the core ends and centre. Slice the apples in very thin slices.
Step 2: Add the slices to a bowl together with ½ of lemon and 4 Tablespoons of water needed to cover them completely.
Step 3: Place the bowl in the microwave for 3-4 minutes or until the apple slices are soften. (You can check by simply trying to bend the slice, if it breaks it means it is not ready yet).
Step 4: Take 1 sheet of puff pastry and cut it in 6 equal parts.
Step 5: Add your favourite jam on each slice of pastry.
Step 6: Place 7-9 apple slices along one half of the pastry slice with the peel side facing out.
Step 8: Fold the pastry in half to cover the apples and starting with the end roll over the pastry to form the desired rose shape.
Step 9: Place it in a muffin tray and cook it at 190 degrees C for 40-45 minutes.
Step 10: Once they are done, remove from the oven and add a thin layer of powdered sugar.
Tip: You can add a cheese cream instead of a jam if you prefer.
